A 62-year-old man, identify as Gbadamosi was arraigned on Tuesday by the Police before an Ikorodu Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly luring two teenage girls with money in order to have Cex with them.

Gbadamosi, a resident of 8 Araromi St., Beach Area in Ikorodu community is standing trial on a one-count charge bordering on sexual assault.

The two teenage girls, aged 11 years and 13 years respectively also reside in the neighbourhood of the accused.

Sgt. John Iberedem, the prosecutor, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in March at about 2p.m. in his apartment.

Iberedem said the accused usually invited the girls into his apartment while they’re returning from school, to have sex with them. He allegedly paid them between N100 and N1,000 each.

He said that the defendant had been sleeping with them for a long time and threatened them not to tell anybody or they will be dealt with.

According to him, some neighbors confronted the girls on what they were always coming to do with the man and they confessed. The matter was then reported to the police.

He said the girls were taken to the hospital, and tests revealed that the girls have been defiled. According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs F. A. Azeez, granted the accused bail to the tune of N1 million with two sureties in like sum, and ruled that the sureties must be of grade level 12 and above and has a land that has Certificate of Occupancy.

She also said that one of the sureties must be his family member who paid tax to the Lagos State Government. Mrs F.A Azeez then adjourned the case till May 9 for mention.
