Jim Ovia Foundation Leaders Scholarship for Undergraduate African Students to Study at Covenant University 2018/2019 – Nigeria


The Jim Ovia Foundation in collaboration with the Africa-America Institute is offering the Jim Ovia Foundation Leaders Scholarship for Young African leaders to study at Covenant University.

To Be Taken At (Country): Nigeria

About the Award
: The granting institution is the Jim Ovia Foundation Leaders Scholarship Fund (“JOFLSF”). The JOFLSF provided the AAI with a gift of Two Million-Dollars(USD) to finance four-year degree programs for high-achieving African students to attend world-class educational institutions around the globe. From this 2-million-dollar pool, Covenant will receive 276,000 dollars for ten students.

This year, both Covenant University in Nigeria and Ashesi University in Ghana were chosen by the executive leadership of the Jim Ovia Foundation.

Eligibility


Must be a citizen of an African country, residing in Africa
Exhibit strong academic record and penchant for high-achievement

Demonstrate a Financial Need

Present an active record of youth leadership within his/her community


Number of Awards: 10 (three of the ten recipients will be international students from other African countries).

Value of Award
: Qualified African students from under-resourced communities will receive full tuition to cover their undergraduate degree, accommodation, mentoring support, books, and student travel.

Duration of Program: 4 years

Admission is open at asheshi. But covenant admission is not yet open for 2018/2019. Can a Nigerian apply for the scholarship at asheshi??

Admission runs about three times a year in asheshi(I am not sure) so I guess that's why.
You would have 30% chances of being picked at asheshi but at CU you have 70% chances. Allotment is 70% for Nationals and 30% for internationals.
