nnamdijonathan:
The US House of Representatives of the
commonwealth of Kentucky honors His Majesty, Eze
Chukwuemeka Eri with a Citation of Honor.
His Majesty, Eze Eri is currently in the United State as
he officiates the historic coronation of a new king in
Kentucky who happens to be of an African American
descendant with Igbo ancestry.
The Mayor of Lexington officially declares September
23, 2018 as His Majesty, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri Day in
Lexington.

I consider this gesture very deep and sensitive. Aside a clear exportation of Igbo culture, it consolidated and reinforced the Eri hypothesis of Igbo origins. Again, the import of this gesture will yet manifest in due time. It has all the potentials to elevate Igbo narrative to mainstream American and Western civil consciousness (read, assuming they dont know already). It even has deep implications to facilitate the quest for self determination if the diplomatic opportunities this exchange engendered are exploited better.

Everyday, Enugu is gradually improving itself creating well spaced out city filled with trees, flowers and raw beauty and others are there talking propaganda. The distance between Enugu and the average Igbo city is gradually widening.

Am i the only one who rightly think it is high time the government expands the podium of Okpara square? Somewhere to the left and right sides of the current podium. They should also ban guys from converting the parched portion to a soccer pitch. Planting carpet grass on that section is a better deal. This monument is evergreen!
