You are saying the bitter truth. Land will become an issue in the future and if we allow structures to just spring from nowhere and everywhere, we won't be having anywhere to farm, grow businesses and build factories. We won't have anywhere to go for leisure nor a place for wildlife. We need to think about the next 100years because we know what will happen if we keep growing at this steady rate, what will happen in the future.

I proposing that we build large housing estates in every state that can have 5million housing units in the form of skyscrapers and we either start selling or renting such facilities out.

These are big investments that can generate huge sums for the government and investors. For example, the chinese built Kilamba with 3.5billion dollars. Very beautiful city with very beautiful scenery. We can either lure foreign investors or we make our local billionaires invest in this line of business like the chagoury group is doing with Lagos. They can either make their money through leasing or outright sales of these properties.

If we do this in the 5 igbo states, then we will have solved one of the biggest future problems in the region. This will create more business for SMEs and we will have driven poverty out to an extent.
I'm proud to be an IGBO MAN. I love this discussion. keep it up.

Dave is terrific! There must be a series of vetting processes for both the PDP and APC candidates vying to succeed him. Posterity will judge us badly if we elect a douchebag as his successor.

sadly no. Their is a Chinese metallurgical complex development in that (inner galaxy Ltd) but as of now, nothing else. Ground breaking ceremony has been deferred to 1st quarter of next year-and might be pushed back further, unless the got the necessary needed finance in the just concluded African investment forum. The project is included in the budget (state) of 2020 -guess we can do nothing but wait.

The city plan won the first charter city business plan award 2019 , with a cash plan of $25000

The governor also claimed he got a $430m investment from the African development Bank and other investors, in the just concluded African investment forum

Enyimba Economic City is majority a private project. Please look it up. I did thorough research on it. Abia state and FGN have few shares in the project.

They have been working on securing financing which they finally did for the first phase of the project. This caused a major delay.

The International Monetary Fund, The African Import-Export Bank and the African finance Cooperation just release a loan facility totaling $450 million to kick off the project.

Also the host communities said that ikpeazu did not meet the terms for securing the lands for the project and they protested back in August. I think the issue might have been resolved.

I went to Abakaliki last week from Enugu and the road, despite being a one lane road was very good. The driver told me it was done by Dave Umahi but i found it hard to believe that.
lol..it was built by GEJ when that ishiagu man (Anyim Pius Anyim) was Jonathan's SGF...though Sullivan built the two lane within Enugu metropolis while Elechi/Umahi did the other end within Abakaliki metropolis
