To start with, massive thanks to Ustadh Sirnucy lafiagi who has been of significant help in shedding light on this issue, his posts have always been educative and it has been of huge help in putting this together!!

#LazyNigeriaYouths
Nigerians and hypocrisy like 5&6 has been glued and only a supernatural force can bring separation!!

The latest Buhari's statement about youths has indeed exhibited the intelligence and stupidity in many so to say. The most pathetic part is those who tends to be elites but also present themselves as shenanigans!! Funny enough, some of them didn't even read the statement talk less of comprehending it, yet they jumped into nasty and annoying conclusions just as a result of what they were been told by their fellow crooks!! Kindly note the fact that I'm neither a PDP nor Apsick, but rather a fan of reality, so thinking he is a Buharist or whatever is at your own peril.

Now delving into the issue, here is the bypassed statement of Buhari;
“…And then the economy, we have a very young
population. Our population is estimated conservatively
to be 180 million – this is a conservative one. More
than 60% of the population is below the age of 30. A lot
of them haven’t been to school, and they are claiming
that Nigeria has been an oil producing country and
therefore they should sit and do nothing, get housing,
healthcare, education free"

Shall we say there's no more difference between some/a lot/almost??
breaking this down, Most: 1: greatest in quantity, extent, or degree.
2 : the majority
A lot: a large number or amount; a great deal.
Most: 35/60, 40/60, 45/60, 50/60 55/60, 59/60
A lot: 20/60, 25/60, 30/60

Thus, one who sincerely peruse over the statement could easily point to the fact baba was referring to uneducated youths whom despite not being educated still expect everything to come to them on a platter of gold, and pertinent to mention he wasn't referring to all of them. Is baba wrong with this?? And to those ranting here and there on social media, are they uneducated? Are they expecting things to come to them easily?? Now they keep uploading pictures of youths struggling here and there, why are they not uploading pictures of Cyber crime youths, why don't they upload pictures of youths at oritas hailing rich men for money, why did they chose not to upload pictures of youths at bet9ja shops?? See hypocrisy!!

And as a matter of fact, this kept me wondering if all their rants was a sincere one, or is it because the statement was coming from Buhari this time around?? When David Cameron address Nigeria as a fantastically corrupt country all these ranting youths were saying nothing!!

When Atiku said Nigerian public varsities graduates cannot compete
with his secondary school students, those ranting on social media now were no where to be found then
“There is no student in public universities that can
speak English in an error-free manner like the head boy
of my secondary, who just finished addressing us now.”
Atiku Abubakar
18th November, 2016
https://t.guardian.ng/news/nigerian-public-varsities-
graduates-cannot-compete-with-my-secondary-school-
students/ we heard nothing then!!

When Governor Dickson of Bayelsa state said
"Bayelsans are lazy gossipers. They want everything
free. They are not ready to work. How do I repair the
turbine when no one is ready to pay for services."
- Gov. Dickson on media Chat.
14th May, 2016... Everywhere was silent!!

Conclusively, for those saying that in a "saner clime" like
America, you can never hear the POTUS calling his
people lazy, here's Maazi Barack Obama referring to
the entire American people (not just the youth or a
certain demographic) as LAZY!!!

#sp=show-clips

When Awolowo himself shade them back then, they kept mute
“The trouble with many Nigerian youths is that they
sleep too much, play too much; and indulge too much
in idle chatter and gossip.”
Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s
Ondo Town Hall, July 1974
His preamble at the Presentation of Gani Fawehinmi’s
book, "People’s Rights to Free Education At All Levels."
https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2014/04/24/the-
genius-of-obafemi-awolowo-and-the-contest-for-his-
political-space/
No one attacked him then, No one attacked these people then, so why quoting Buhari haphazardly now!! Is that not hypocrisy!!

One of the reasons why we are still backward as a nation is hypocrisy, and Nigeria will be great again when we are not being mal-judgemental, when we are being sincere in our approaches and not being partial!! Once again I'm neither a PDP nor Apsick but rather a fan of reality.

Baba aptly described the situation and perception of Nigerian youths.
But as usual, Nigerian youths lack comprehension and are quick to react even so without comprehension.

Some are failures, doing nothing and expecting something as baba stated is actually an understatement.

Question for you Op:

1. Who and where are the youths baba was referring to? Are they Arewa Youths or Middle Beltans or Ohaneze or Youruba Youths? Even Niger Delta Youths don't agitate for free effrithin. The want resource control, the want oil wells, the want a stop to pollution and environmental degradation. So, who are these youths please? Provide reference just as you have started to do.

2. But not as important, so the proportion of the 'do-nothing-want-everrything' youths is so enormous as to warrant emphasis in Commonwealth forum by baba.

Our problem is always trying to interpret what baba means from what he clearly states. I asked you to watch the video. It's unambiguous. If you have never been to Nigeria (As many in that potential investors forum have not), and you are told that by the President, what impression will you go home with. THAT'S THE POINT!

It's not about your quack interpretation

Hashimyussufamao:
lalasticlala seen mynd44... This is not bbnaija thread but pls do the needful.

Did you read Senator Shehu Sani's response. He stated that Buhari's views are commonly shared amongst the older elitist class. That's why Awolowo, Atiku and Dickson all share this view.

This older generation were given fairly stable electricity, good roads, good schools, good hospitals, a functional system of government run on taxes, a competent military, yet they destroyed everything. During their time naira was even stronger than the dollar. Their mates in China, South Korea, and Malaysia have developed those countries while Nigeria can still be described as a shithole.

These old people created a system of greed, nepotism and tribalism. A system were merit has little to no value. They made Nigeria one of the most unequal countries in earth and also the country with the highest number of people living in extreme poverty.

Do you have any shame? How dare you blame the victims for the catastrophe you created.

Op, you nailed the matter on the head. Simple English comprehension is beyond some people. 30℅ is a lot, 40% is a lot, I don't see how that means "most" or "all".

The APC government has been poor, that does not mean we should be intellectually lazy and not understand statements in plain English.

The President was referring to the rent seeking mentality among some youths such as the Omoniles or The Niger Delta youths who expect to be paid allowances for doing nothing because they believe the county is rich and owes them. Was the President lying?
