A statement credited to Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha that Ndigbo (South Easterners) should support President Muhammadu Buhari re-elction bid to enable the region produce next president in 2023.

It is very sad that we are in a Nation that is beleaguered with high rate of unemployed youths, high rate of maternity death, epileptic power supply and myriads of national crisis without any signal of hope.

Governor Okorocha has the right to support his party candidate, he has right to campaign for his candidate re-election bid but he should place his candidate scorecards before his people not cajoling them to support him for them to have a taste of the exalted office .

The South East has been marginalised, I have been marginalised, we are all been marginalised. There is a gulf between the rich and the poor in Nigeria state, there is a wide gap between politicians and citizens. Living standard between leaders and citizens is wide.

Public Office holders have access to medical treatment (tourism) abroad through our commonwealth, they have rendered our teaching hospitals to glorified mortuaries. What do one expect when Aso Rock villa Clinic with huge amount of budgetary allocation lacks needle and syringe? Federal Government jobs is being shared by politicians and their friends while children of the masses where told to return to farm or to learn handiwork because no place for them in the Federal Civil Service.

These are issues Gov. Okorocha should talk about. He should tell the Ndigbo and Nigerians at large how his Bwana has delivered on his campaign promises. His party campaigned in 2015 on three agenda - Security, Anti corruption and Economy. He should ask Nigerians if his party has delivered it promised dividend of democracy.

History has shown since return to Democracy in 1999 that past presidents were not fair to their geo-political zone while in power. Olusegun Obasanjo from south/south-west eight years in office didn't repair Lagos-Ibadan expressway, he didn't find a solution to Niger Delta crisis, it was late Musa Yar'dua from north/northwest that found solution to restlessness in Niger Delta.Goodluck Jonathan from south/south-south that started repair of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. President Goodluck Jonathan from the south/south south didn't start ogoniland clean up, it was President Buhari from North/North-West that started it (you call it political propaganda).

Nigeria will clock two decades of democracy rule without military intervention next year, we are now beyond politics of my kinsman must be elected because he is from my region, we are supporting a candidate for an office to allow our own region produce the next occupier of the office mantra has faded, no more supporting a candidate because of shared religion or ethnic group.

First term election is base on faith and truth electorates have in a candidate but second term election is base on previous and proven performance in office. Gov. Okorocha and his BUHARISM believers should not canvass for votes base on religion or ethnic tie with Mr President nor to attract sympathy to allow their region to produce next president in 2023. Put President Buhari's achievement on the table and let Nigerians decide.
