Liverpool’s magnificent display last night at Anfield with Salah’s unfathomable display saw them thump AS Roma 5-2, proving once again how deadly Liverpool’s frontline is.

The Reds showing saw them take control of their Champions League semi-final first leg tie, but Roma’s two late away goals gave the Italian outfit a glimmer of hope for the second leg at the Stadio Olympico.

Liverpool, who last reached the final in 2007, repeatedly breached the visitor’s naively high defensive line and scored five times in the opening 68 minutes at the packed filled stadium called ‘Anfield’.

Liverpool proved too hot for Roma to handle with their former player Salah tearing them into shreds as he curled his first goal of the night into the top corner from the edge of the box – fans scrambled off their seats in wild jubilation.

More was to come from the Egyptian maestro who made it 2-0 for Liverpool when he clipped the ball over Brazil’s and Roma goal keeper Alisson to get his second goal of the night –things were indeed getting so mixed up for the visitors at Anfield.

Mo Salah then ran down the right and squared a pass for Senegal’s Sadio Mane to make it 3-0 before repeating the same feat as he set up Roberto Firmino to get the fourth goal for Liverpool.

What more would have been said of a player who rose above everyone to showcase such a rear feat as this; Roma surely could not find their bearing at Anfield as the Egyptian and his team mates made the night to be one ‘to be remembered’.

Salah, who has now scored 43 goals since his summer move from the Italian outfit, Roma scored twice and gave two assists to see Mane and Firmino find the back of the net.
Liverpool became the second team to score five goals in a Champions League semi-final match when Firmino nodded the ball in James Milner’s corner.

Salah was pulled out by Jurgen Klopp with his side leading 5-0 but the changes made lessen the threat Liverpool did pose earlier in the game. Roma gradually settled in and were rewarded with two late goals to finish at 5-2.

Roma forward Edin Dzeko lashed home from Radja Nainggolans’ clinical pass to score the first for the visitors, with Diego Perrotti netting the second from the penalty spot after Milner handled the shot from Nainggolan.

Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade Chamberlain was carried off the pitch with a stretcher as the England midfielder ‘probably had a bad injury’.
The win at Anfield for Liverpool pushes them a step closer to the final of the Champions League which will see them face either Bayern Munich or defending champions Real Madrid.

Salah, Firmino and Jordan Henderson made it look like a video game being played on ‘beginner’ mode.
