Emeka Ephraim Ugwuonye, the Nigerian lawyer disbarred in the US, has finally been disbarred in Nigeria. The Chief Registrar has struck off his name from the roll of legal practitioners. The roll is a register that contains all the names of all those who are qualified to practice law in Nigeria.

He is well known for his Facebook activism against domestic violence. Unfortunately, he was accused of misconduct unbecoming of a legal practitioner.

In a later dated the 24th day of April, 2018, and made available to lawyers, the Chief Registrar says that Emeka Ugwuonye failed to appeal a decision made against him in May, 2017, which amounted to waiver of his right of appeal.

The general public are put on notice not to deal with him as a barrister.
