Ali Modu Sheriff, former PDP factional chairman.

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Nigeria has snubbed former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu-Sheriff, who was scheduled to join the ruling party in Abuja today.

Sherrif who was billed to be received at the national headquarters by the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and other members of the party’s National Working Committee was asked to go and join at his ward level.

A statement was issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, in which he directed Modu-Sheriff to join the party in his ward.

The statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to reports in some sections of the media that the former factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress today at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

“While we are aware of such intentions, we wish to restate our earlier position that anyone who wants to join the Party should do so at the ward level.

“We are happy to welcome new members to our party, but membership cards are not issued at the Party National Secretariat.”

Btw 2019 is not all about party but survival of christians

Fear those politician that start their education with Islamic education

Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, SAS, alias "Boko Haram Creator" has been reduced to "go and join/register in your ward" politician. The "mighty" are indeed falling, lol.

Other highly-placed politicians who defected to APC were received by the same NWC at APC Headquarters in Abuja, but on the turn of Sheriff, he was shoved aside to go join in his ward/local government in Borno state!

This is a killer-punch that showed his lack of relevance in politics. Shetima, the current Borno state Governor, his erstwhile boy, has nailed his political coffin.

Smart. They know sheriff cannot go back to Borno state, talk less of his apc ward due to the hatred his kinsmen have for him. If sherif goes back to his ward to register under the apc, it is his blood he would use to sign the apc form.

*sigh* in a way I pity for him, he is stuck between a rock(pdp) and a very hard place(apc). However, he deserves everything he gets because he used his own two feet to get there.

The truth is that nobody sent Sheriff as a mole to PDP. The guy decamped to PDP because he was on the radar of the then FG, he used his defection as a soft landing and he got it.

His rise to power in the PDP is borne out of the greedy tendency of some few politicians in their midst.

To all who still think a he was a mole...
If APC sent him as a mole, were dy responsible for his rise to become the head of the party.
Let's ignore sentiments so we can comment truthfully.
I am not a party man so don't bother to associate me with either PDP or APC.
2019 will be for a person that I am convinced will be better than this.
