One Abayomi Akanji has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command in the Adatan area of Abeokuta, for allegedly impersonating a soldier.

He was said to have stolen the uniform from an army barracks and used it to terrorise residents of the community. He reportedly used it during the period of the fuel scarcity to harass people and create panic.

Luck, however, ran out on him on April 17, 2018, when operatives from the Adatan Police Division, who were on a routine patrol, accosted him and while he was being questioned, he owned up to being a fake soldier.
