Police through the Flying Squad Unit have arrested a 19-year-old girl, Peace Ansimiire, daughter of Bishop Fred Muhwezi of West Ankole Diocese, Uganda, for faking her own kidnap.

In a statement, police says Ansimire, in connivance with her 22-year-old boyfriend, Julius Atwebembire allegedly faked her kidnap so as to defraud her parents of Shs 3.5 million.

They reportedly intended to use the 'ransom money' to start a craft shoes business in Kenya and later get married when they have amassed enough funds from their business.
