• Center for Educational Services set for successful 2018 JUPEB EXAM
The Registrar and Chief Executive of Joint University Preliminary Examination Board (JUPEB), Professor Duro Ajeyalemi, yesterday paid an official visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Chinedum Nwajjiuba.
Represented by his deputy, Prof. Sunday Elom, the Vice-Chancellor in his welcome speech thanked the Registrar for the visit and urged the Board not to relent in its drive to develop the intellectual capacities of students, adding that as part of the scheme, the university was committed to the ideals of the organization.


The Vice-Chancellor further stressed the continuous commitment of the university towards running JUPEB programmes in order to create more opportunities for Nigerian youths to access quality education.
He maintained that the Center for Educational Services under whose auspices the JUPEB programmes are being run in the university has been repositioned to deliver cutting edge teaching and learning experiences to foundation students to make them enterprising on admission into universities. And promised that interactive boards and other important teaching aids as requested by the Board would be provided to the Center to enable it improve the students’ learning experiences.
On the rationale for the visit, Professor Ajeyalemi, said it was to sensitize and discover the readiness of member universities to participate in this year’s examination that would be simultaneously conducted across the country.
He also noted that part of the visit was to ascertain the university’s challenges in the running of JUPEB programmes so as to contribute in their solutions. And reiterated the Boards’ commitment in ensuring strict compliance to its curriculum especially as it affects those disciplines that require practical applications.


Professor Ajeyalemi further appealed to the Vice-Chancellor to pay more attention to Centre for Educational Services by providing flexible demarcations within their lecture hall, adding that the introduction of interactive boards would also ensure clearer visibility and wider participation among the students. He equally urged the Management to maintain strict disciplinary actions to regulate the conducts of students.
Meanwhile, the Center of Educational Services, AE-FUNAI, would join other member universities of JUPEB to conduct this year’s foundation examination scheduled to hold on 12th June, 2018.


This hint was dropped by the Director of the Center, Professor Michael U. Onuu when he recently led the JUPEB delegation to pay a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Professor Onuu expressed the readiness of the Center to conduct a hitch free examination that meets the standard of the Board, adding that staff have been adequately prepared to oversee the examination.
