For now, rest of Nigeria is okay with easterners travelling 10 hrs or more on horrible roads to the east from Lagos and Abuja International Airports.

Someone please explain this to me, the piece of land the Air Force wants to use, is it federal property because I see no reason why the Enugu state government and Air Peace didn't make a use of it since and why requesting to use it now.

If not you would have checked to confirm that the Airforce bases in Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri, Benin and even Port Harcourt are all located beside the airports in these states. It is only logical as there would be shared resources between the civilian and military air facilities.
Air Peace can go to the other end of the airport for land. The Airforce's land is for future expansion of its Base in Enugu.

Nigeria Airforce must relocate their facilities out of Akanu Ibiam Airport. Only in the SE is the Airforce occupying such a massive space inside an airport, obstructing air traffic.

The airport need to develop its commercial base and Dr. Allen Onyema, has made it categorically clear since three years ago, that Enugu would be Air Peace's west African hub to connect the world. Who ever is blocking this development should be reasonable enough to stay away.

I don't understand why people like playing mind games. The entire land in the state is owned by the state Govt.

The land in possession of the air force is the one the governor and the a private company is greedily looking at.

It is not appropriate for such lands to be given to a private company. Another govt will come now and be giving them problems.


The state Govt should give them land and not pass the buck to the Fed govt.

The best the FG can do is to lease them the land.

It's difficult to fathom why people like you who want to expose their ignorance would do so even with the easiest thing to decipher. The Igbo is aware of the politics of Enugu airport. Full international operations is being blocked by Mr. BUHARI.

Last month he sent his airforce man to tell Ndigbo that a market, far away from the airport, made it impossible to allow full international business at the airport. This is in total negligence of the fact that the airforce building was erected almost at the tarmac, obstructing air traffic. This is not the case in other airports. The airport doesn't have as much land as the ones you mentioned. Airforce base in Enugu is not "beside" the airport. It is right inside the tarmac. Ethiopian airline pilots are doing their very best navigating around the devilish political blockade.

In a nutshell, anything airforce is not very useful to the region than removing any obstruction to a full blown international operations at the airport, do you get it?
