Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to. The 'S' at the end of HTTPS stands for 'Secure'. It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. The procedure for encrypting information and then exchanging it is called HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). With HTTPS if anyone in between the sender and the recipient could open the message, they still could not understand it. https is a must if u want to exchange confidential details, e.g online shopping, email exchange, messages etc. |
