ABUJA —THE Senate, yesterday, passed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Amendment Bill, stripping the President of his direct influence and control over the anti-graft agency.

Even though PDP stalwats like Ibrahim Mantu tried to prevent it, the Senate was able to pass the law to protect the EFCC from manipulation by Obasanjo and PDP.

Is it too little too late? Atiku and a host of other people have had the might of EFCC and INEC used against them, Thieves like Alao-Akala and Gbenga Daniels, have been allowed to get away with criminal deeds and looting of their respective States treasury.
Maurice Iwu of the INEC inspite of his protestations to the contrary, has allowed himself to be used to subvert the will of the people and forever tainted and compromised the forthcoming elections.
What do you think?

I think the creation of EFCC by OBJ may end up being his greatest achievement in the last 8 years.

Nigeria and Nigerians will be the ultimate beneficiaries of the EFCC whether selective or not for now.

Point of correction Afam; Obj did not create EFCC, it was an act of congress who thought it wise to invest the power of control in the president.
The EFCC was hailed by a host patriots like you and I as a good thing which we believe will bring sanity to our run away kleptocratic nation. At the inception, EFCC performed well and we hailed the agency. Lately however, the agency had been used to witch-hunt opponets of the president and this my friend is where I believe well meaning Nuhu Ribadu ered and this is why the Congress saw it fit to kame the outfit more indepent of control by any individual. In the end, it will give the EFCC more teeth to go after anyone, irrespective of how highly placed they may be.

Good question. Did anyone win the last two elections?

The will of the people is to elect a true repesentative not an imposed one
