Mavin Records superstar, Johnny Drille has reacted to losing 4 awards categories at the prestigious Headies awards which took place in Lagos, Nigeria on the 6th of May, 2017.

The alternate singer who was nominated in 4 awards categories including the much talked about NEXT RATED ACT took to his social media account TWITTER, to express his feelings.

Awwn. Most of the artists that got awards also had this moment when they started. Being nominated and not winning awards. But they pushed further and here they're. Your time is coming son, just keep up the good work.

No matter how hard he tries, he will never be a big artiste in Nigeria like Davido, Wizkid, et al. He won't be winning too many awards too. Why? Because he doesn't sing pon pon pon music.

Johnny Drille is very talented and makes quality songs but Nigerians are averse to quality music. Why is Brymo not big, Asa is celebrated in Europe than in Nigeria, Mode-9 can't even sell a thousand copies of his CD.

Johnny is Nigeria's The Lumineers and Mumford and Sons combined.
