Islam simply means submission to the will of Almighty God. Islam has five pillars namely:

1.To testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah(God) and Muhammad(SAW) is His messenger and Prophet.

2. To observe Salat i.e five Muslim daily prayers.

3. To pay Zakat i.e alms giving to the poor.

4. To fast during the month of Ramadan.

5. To go to Hajj at least once in a life time.

The whole essence of Islam is salvation of mankind. Islam wants us to live our lives in line with the dictates and commandments of God. There are things God has made permissible. There are things He has made forbidden for us like stealing, murder, fornication, adultery, backbiting, etc. Islam wants us to completely do away with things God has made forbidden. Islam wants us to live a holy life. An evil you wouldn’t want anybody to do to you, Islam doesn’t want us to do it to another person.

All the prophets and messengers of God were all sent by God to preach Islam to their people. Prophets Adam, Noah, Ibrahim, Daud, Sulaiman, Musa(Moses), Eesa(Jesus) (A.S) etc, all preached Islam to their people. They were all sent by God with just one message: to worship none but God Almighty. This is the message of Islam. The difference between the times of the prophets and messengers of God is that there are slight differences in their God’s laws to their people. The last prophet and messenger of God on the surface of the Earth before the end of time is Prophet Muhammad(SAW).

Our stay on the surface of the Earth is temporary. We are all going to leave this Earth one day. It’s just a matter of time. Our stay on the surface of the Earth is a trial from God. It is a test. Some would eventually pass the test while some would fail. For those that pass the test, by God’s mercy, God will reward them with paradise. Those who deny the prophets and messengers of God, commit murder, adultery, fornication, armed robbery, robbery, worship other than God Almighty, etc, they are those that would fail the test. God will punish them on the day of judgement, except if they are forgiven by God.
