This is what some women go through and lose their lives, just because they feel Caesarian Section is demonic or not womanly enough. Thank God she pulled through, but an 8lbs baby is quite big, and labour for 30+hrs is risky.

Considering the damaging complications of prolonged labor, prolonged rupture of membrane (PROM) especially on the baby, one would have expected a prompt caesarean operation.

My sister who just gave birth for the first time ever went in for regular check up a day before her birthday and that was when she went into labor. In less than 30 minutes, she had given birth... Thank God it was in the US.

I wonder which heartless doctor, nurse and husband allowed that woman to labour for 34 hours without finding an alternative. That woman coulda died from the stress and it coulda cost them the baby's life too; it was a risky decision. An hour of labour pain is much, talk more of 34 hours.

I don't think that hospital has a qualified doctor, that's if it's even a hospital.

I know someone who laboured for 3 days. We rushed her to hospital on day 1. She was still acting happy on day 1. Even asking if we had eaten, etc. Day 2 - no stories Day 3: Also got the painful intravenous liquid. Just tears. Women are strong She gave birth after day 3 ended. At 3am next day.

I know she would have gotten a C-section on day 1 if it was a private hospital. In public hospitals, they wait for dilation to be complete.

Whether private or government-owned, no woman should be allowed to labour for 3 days before an alternative is sought. I've worked in both Private and Government hospitals and ur assertion is wrong. A medical team in which the members know what they are doing will not allow labour to go on for longer than necessary.

Cut the mother's cervix ke? For what?? That's absolutely false as cervical laceration (tear) is always avoided at all cost to prevent excessive bleeding.
In response to ur comment about a place in Kenya, I'm sure if u took ur time to ask them there, they would have explained things to u. A theatre is not meant for emergency Caesarean sections alone, there are some women in whom you would not even bother going through normal delivery in order to save the lives of both mother and child. labour is stressful and a prolonged one can lead to loss of at least a live or complications that will sometimes last for a lifetime.
