The difference between rich people and poor people is their habits. We are all a sum of our choices and unfortunately most people who are poor are that way because they chose to get trapped by habits of poor people. As Aristotle said “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” If you want to avoid poverty then you must examine your daily choices and check if they’re leading you to wealth or the opposite.
That being said, you must free yourself of the habits of poor people and embrace rich people habits to have a better life and a better future. Here are three habits of poor people you need to run away from if you want to avoid poverty:

1. Beggar/Parasite/Victim Mentality
One of the most common habits of poor people is that they see themselves as disadvantaged. They believe that life has dealt them an unfair hand and as such they must simply accept their fate and beg forever. Poor people want to take and never give, they want to be charity cases and welfare projects forever. There’s nothing wrong with going through a rough patch, but if your mind accepts it as your destiny then you will most likely remain poor.

2. Idle talk
Poor people talk too much. They stand around early in the morning at corners or around newspaper stands and just talk away their lives. They always have verbal energy to dissipate. They never take time to think or meditate or just digest things. They just want to talk, talk and talk and they will chatter on forever if you allow them. Wasted verbal energy is as good as money and that time spent talking could have been used to conceive the next business idea. Think about it, how many billionaires do you know that talk too much?

3. Pleasure seeking
Poor people are always chasing temporary pleasures. They don’t think about the future. They’re always interested in what they can get now and what they can enjoy in the moment. They don’t understand the need for restraint or self control because they’re all about acting on impulse. They want to eat everything now and spend everything now and give no thought to the future.

It’s very easy to become poor; all it takes is wrong choices and habits done consistently. Therefore, if you don’t want to end up poor, now is the time to make the necessary changes to avoid that destination.
