The problem is not 'godfatherism' per se but rather that in Okorochas' case, he seems to have lost the goodwill he used to enjoy amongst a significant portion of his people and political associates, hence they are rejecting his succession plan. Citing the likes of George Bush Snr and Jnr, Saraki, Tinubu and others won't be enough. You can't successfully lead your people without grassroot support, which Rochas appears to have lost.
