Girl-Child Enrolment On The Increase, Impressive In Katsina — Unicef
Chief of Education, United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, Nigeria, Terry Durnnian, has expressed satisfaction with the increasing number of girl-child enrollment in schools across Katsina State in 2018.
Durnnian made this remark during a media briefing in Kastina on Wednesday. He lauded the role played by the relevant stakeholders who mobilized and went out to talk to parents in the area to enrol their girl –child in schools.
He said; “I am happy to see changes at school level; I had the opportunity to visit some schools where I had discussions with community members, parents and interacted with children and teachers.

LAGOS STATE GOVERNOR AMBODE ADVOCATE FOR TRUE FEDERALISM
The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has urged Nigerians and governments to look beyond prejudice and hatred.
He said this as a guest lecturer at the University of Lagos Convocation Lecture titled; Inclusion: Path to a new nation.
As a panacea, Ambode urged Nigerians to jettison ethnic pettiness and religious bigotry and entrench true federalism.

UNIVERSITY STUDENT STRIPS IN CLASS TO PROTEST OPPRESSIVE BELIEF
A Cornell University senior delivered her honours thesis after stripping down to her bra and underwear in front of her teacher and classmates. At least two dozen of whom also undressed – in a bid to “stand against oppressive beliefs and discrimination,” Campus Reform reported Tuesday.
Letitia Chai stripped down to her underwear to present her thesis at the Ivy League school in a bid to fight oppressive beliefs after claiming her professor questioned the shorts she was wearing.

KATSINA POLYTECHNIC TO COMMENCE DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN FOUR COURSES
The Katsina Polytechnic says it will soon commence degree programmes in four courses in affiliation with the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna in Niger state.
The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Ibrahim Kurfi, disclosed this while receiving a panel from FUT Minna who paid him a visit in Kastina on Wednesday.
He listed the programmes as B.Sc. Technical education, B.Sc. Biology, B.Sc. Mathematics and B.Sc. Chemistry.
