Nsikak Thompson, a Nigerian that is billed to make the country proud digitally! Coming from the Niger Delta region, an oil producing region that is changing the narrative of the region. Nsikak Thompson a Google developer has been selected to be in California ,Mountain View. He is one of the few people that the tech giant has selected.

Coming from Start Innovation Hub, one of the few incubation hub in the region that has made tremendous impact in the ecosystem. According to the founder of the incubation hub, Johnson Hanson,

“Start Innovation Hub is not just a Technology Preincubation Centre that help startups start up faster in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria”, he said.

He also added that ” We train and groom young talents with the drive of creating solutions that will solve problems in Africa, and by extension the world over.”

Colleagues at the hub and those that know Nsikak are excited that Nsikak Thompson, a Lead Android Developer who doubles who doubles as Google Developers Group (GDG Uyo) Team Lead is one of the selected Africans attending Google I/O 2018 in Mountain View, California.

Tallents like ‘Nsikak’ are everywhere in the region but lack opportunity, the government are encouraged to work with private sector to develop the young ones in the ICT ecosystem by encouraging the study of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) and make those that have made tremendous strides in he ICT ecosystem role models for the young ones
