MAN ALLEGEDLY KILLS 82-YEAR-OLD MOTHER, REMOVES EYES, HEART
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 52-year-old man, Christopher Okadigbo, for allegedly killing his 82-year-old mother, Roseline Okadigbo.
Also arrested was a suspected accomplice, Ameke Udolu.
The first son of the deceased, Mr. Innocent Okadigbo, told our correspondent that he had a “strong suspicion” that his younger brother’s motive was to use their mother for ritual.

WANTED CULTIST ARRESTED DURING POLICE RECRUITMENT EXERCISE IN RIVERS
One of the suspected cultists in Etche Local government area who is on the wanted list of the Rivers State government has been arrested in Port Harcourt.
The suspect, a middle-aged man was arrested at the Civic Centre, venue of the ongoing police recruitment in Port Harcourt.

MURDER: COURT REMANDS LAWYER, DISMISSES PLEA TO CANCEL BURIAL
A Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, yesterday remanded a 48-year-old female lawyer, Udeme Otike-Odibi, in prison custody for allegedly stabbing her husband, Sym Otike-Odibi, to death with a knife.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Kikelomo Ayeye, ordered that the accused be remanded in Kirikiri Prison, pending the conclusion of investigation.
Ayeye said that Udeme would remain in prison pending advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and formal arraignment before a Lagos High Court if the need be.

10 FEARED DEAD AS CROSS RIVER, AKWA IBOM COMMUNITIES CLASH
At least 10 persons have been reportedly killed in a renewed communal clash between the people of Ikot Offiong in Odukpani local government area of Cross River State and Oku Iboku in Itu local government area of Akwa Ibom State.
The renewed clash started on Sunday over a piece of land suspected to have oil deposit.
Addressing newsmen on Wednesday, Chief Stephen Nya, an elder statesman in Ikot Offiong said, “The crisis is driven by the quest of Oku Iboku people to own Okposong Rivers because they want the forest reserve located on that stretch, along with the oil deposits.

FG TRAINS 200 PRINCIPALS ON DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION IN SCHOOLS
The Federal Ministry of Education says 200 schools principals in Kebbi have been trained on drug abuse prevention in their schools, to stem the tide of drug abuse among students.
The Director of Education Support Service Department in the ministry, Mrs Justina Ibe, said on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi during the training that the menace of drug abuse among students has become alarming.
