The Lion And The Mouse: An Allegory Of The Biafra Struggle by Lothario(m): 8:23pm On May 11, 2018
The lion is king of the jungle, but prisoner, captor in the zoo. The jungle is where the lion exercises authority over its kingdom. The zoo is where the lion is taken to as a captive. In the zoo, the lion is no more than the mouse, since they are all caged animals. The equality of the duo can be gleaned from their quest to be free. Interestingly, some of the captors of the king of the jungle are themselves smaller than a mouse.
The lion's roar in the cage is harmless, since he is not at liberty to follow it up with action. The wire gauze used to barricade the Lion King makes him function as a slave seeking freedom from his master. The irony of the caged Lion King is that he now depends on those who ought to tremble with fear for his survival. O how the mighty has fallen!
The allegory above is an apt description of the travails of Biafrans in Nigeria. Biafrans who ought to live as kings, queens, princes, and princesses, are the ones begging their parasites for respite from induced suffering. Biafrans are indigenous to lands flowing with milk and honey; oil and rich gas deposits, yet Biafra is home to thatch houses, kidnappers, hoodlums, phone snatchers, robbers, malnourished men and women occasioned by penurious, beggarly state of existence, Senators whose function at the chambers is to grab the symbol of authority etc. The irony is that Biafra has everything, but Biafrans have nothing.
Kings and paramount rulers in the coastal and hinterland parts of Biafra preside over oil and gas communities all of which are connected to the matrix of pipelines from the North. In other words, the kings and paramount rulers lack administrative powers over their own natural resources. A shameful thing indeed! They are kings and rulers in a zoo, which makes them slaves. Biafrans are caged lions. The claws and carnassal teeth are worthless in the cage. We must work hard to pull down the cage and become real lions. Biafrans must realise that caged lions are gloried, promoted, overrated mice.
Let us galvanize efforts and stop the mice from maltreating lions and lionesses. The North contribute nothing to the growth of Nigeria. Biafrans in the coastal and hinterland parts are the mammary glands that are being sucked on daily basis. We are kings, yet slaves. This must stop! We must work hard to overthrow the government in the zoo where we are. It is time to change the zoo to a jungle where our freedom is unfettered. Let the lions and lionesses sharpen their claws and teeth. It is time to bite and tear our way to freedom. We must work hard to leave HERE where our kings and stakeholders are impoverished for THERE where they shall live and operate as kings and stakeholders indeed. It is time for lions and lionesses to stop living like mice and rats. God bless every Biafran. All hail Biafra!
Freedom is taken, not given.
Only the stouthearted can hatch independence.
Where there is a will, there must be a way.
No cage can hold back determined souls.
Freedom is a right that cannot be denied.
Nigeria, we detest thee
Biafra, we approach thee.

The weak animals are begging that the zoo must not be destroyed , why . if the Lion leaves the zoo , the lion can survive the whole jungle unchallenged but if the small animals leave the zoo , the will become prey to other predators including the lion.

so what is the way forward ,
1.take the lion out of the zoo and leave the weak animals in the zoo.
2. Destroy the zoo and let all the animals out to feign for themselves.
3. continue to keep the zoo against all logic and keep having zoo breaks and high cost of keeping the zoo.
4. Take all the weak animals out and leave the Lion and other predators only in the zoo
5. Maintain a zoo for the lion and maintain another zoo for the weak animals
