I swallowed the Aegean sea hoping to quench her thirst.
Slayed the Nemean lion, hoping to sway her confidence
Outran Hermes, hoping to assuage her fears
She asked
'what do you have for me'?.

My mortal capabilities are failing me.
Penury left tatters in my pocket.
My face that of Hephaestus.
I sober in my emotionlessness.
I drank the bitter aphrodisiac prepared by Aphrodite.
Hoping to sway my love with my ability
Again she asked
'What do you have for me'?

The gods have failed me I yelled
My love eludes me i moaned.
Her smile heavenly ecstasy.
Her voice soothing yet torturous.
Hades refused me passage.
I am stuck in this abyss.

Poor me, i own no worldly possessions.
I am clothed in penury.
But in my darkest moments shines the brightest of light.
Its rays luminous.

In her darkest hour, my heart illuminates her opaque world.
Astounded yet indifferent.
Acting with celerity i wrapped her in a tight embrace,
Whispering
I have nothing of this world, but
My pure heart.
She giggles and hummed in my ears
