Updates are great! I am sure we all can’t wait to have the Oreo updates. Updates often add more features, greater functionality, and also help protect your phone against recent security threats that might compromise the data on your device. So yes, upgrading to the newest official version of software for your Android phone is typically never a bad idea as the oreo is currently the creme de la creme of androids. As you upgrade your smartphone there are some things to keep in mind that can help you avoid any complications that might occur during the update and installation process. While we await the updates, here are few things we need to note.

Follow Instructions
This is the one important thing some people overlook in their excitement to download updates. It is important to read and follow instructions

Back up your data
ALWAYS do the back up. The more backups the merrier, the more often the better, the more locations the safer. Get yourself a cloud backup service or better still use Xcloud as a Backup app or simply copy files to your computer with a USB cable, send to an email – do whatever it takes to have your device backed up. The point is that you do it. And then you do it again, just to be sure.

Charge your battery
It's important that your device doesn't run out of power during an update. So ensure it has adequate charge before you start.it is recommend you ensure your battery is at around 70 to 80 percent as a minimum, before you start to install any update.

Take some last minute screenshots
It's also a good idea to snap a couple of screenshots of your home screens and email them to yourself before you start.
If you use a stock launcher, so take a quick few screenshots of your home screens. These will serve as handy reminders that you can use to set up your phone back how you like it. The update itself won't reset your phone, but you'll see why we recommend taking screenshots in the next step.

Clear cache and factory reset
you might claim there's no need to factory reset after an Android update and that may be true for you. But at the very least you should clear the system cache of your device. This is the quickest and easiest way to clear up any early battery drain bugs and performance issues.

A factory reset and 'start from scratch' approach with new firmware gives you the best opportunity of avoiding the problems that seem to plague users following an update.
I hope we have this handy before updating our phones.
