CARRY YOUR PROTEST TO THE DOORSTEP OF EX-PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN.

He was President of Nigeria for good six years, he failed to make good use of that office to improve on the life of Bayelsan.

He was busy sharing money left, right and centre.

Even the 13 % oil derivation, if Goodluck Jonathan was wise could have been increased from 13% to at least 50% during his regime.

JONATHAN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRAGEDY AND SUFFERING THE BAYELSIANS ARE FACING as he wrongly had the illusion that he still had time to do something for his own people.

THAT TIME NEVER CAME AS GOODLUCK JONATHAN AN INCUMBENT LOST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NIGERIA.

THANK GOD, PRESIDENT BUHARI IS GRINDING PEPPER INTO THE EYES OF THE JONATHANIANS AND THEIR CRONIES.

Make Hay when the sunshines, so goes an english popular saying.

Anybody wishing Governor Seriake Dickson death is a wicked wizard. This man has tried for Bayelsans and given Bayelsa state a positive image.

Long live the Governor may the wicked wizards be consumed in their own evil scheming.

Nice one to the Bayelsians. It's really high time that we start holding all these our so called elected leaders accountable, local government chairmen, to state governors, to Senators and Federal government. Nigeria will be great again!

Angry protesters have blocked all major roads leading to the Niger Delta University (NDU), Amassoma,Bayelsa State. The angry protesters - comprising the host community, the staff of the Niger Delta University, including cleaners and gardeners, have locked all offices and also blocked the main entrance to the institution as some were seen with fetish items while laying ''curses'' on Bayelsa state governor.

They are said to be protesting against the administration of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson over an alleged marginalization of the people of Amassoma, and that they want the whole world to know that the ongoing civil service reforms being carried out in the NDU by the state government is mainly targeted at the people of Amassoma Community.

The protesters said the NDU will not be opened for academic activities until the state government reverses its harsh decisions concerning the workers, and they have also proclaimed that the entire community, mostly the women, will not go to the bush for seven days.

They said they will not relent until the state government reverses its decision.

This is very non specific. Are they being fired, owed salaries or not being promoted as at when due. Is employment not being given to them.

What exactly is the complaint.

REFORMS NOT DESIGNED TO WITCH HUNT WORKERS -Bayelsa Govt
...SAYS FIGHT AGAINST FRAUD MUST CONTINUE

The Bayelsa State Government has stressed that the implementation of the ongoing public sector reforms in the tertiary education sector of the state is not and should not been misconstrued as a witch hunt.

The Commissioner for Education, Hon. Jonathan Obuebite, said in a statement on Tuesday that the government would not backdown on the implementation of the reforms.

He Insisted that over-aged, unproductive workers would be removed from the system to create opportunities for a younger generation of qualified Bayelsans to make input into the development of the institutions.

He said that the the government was resolute in its determination to rid the state of the fraud syndicates who have deprived the State of billions of Naira that should have gone into development.

Obuebite said that reforms were designed to remove the cases of multiple employments, over-aged workers, certificate fraud and others which have foisted a burden of an over-bloated wage bill on the state.

According to the Commissioner, the ongoing exercise is being implemented to weed out unqualified and unproductive people for young and deserving Bayelsa youths to be employed.

Obuebite said that it was the objective of the Restoration Government led by His Excellency, Governor Seriake Dickson to ensure that Bayelsa was ranked among the best when it comes to the issue of the organization of effective and well-organized tertiary education system.

He explained that the government was not directly involved in the issue of the workers in the tertiary institutions as the workers were not government employees.

However, Obuebite said that the government was in support of the decision of the councils and the school’s management as they were in the interest of the schools and indeed the society.

He said that government had taken steps to cushion the effect of those retired by the management of the Niger Delta University by approving and releasing three months salaries for them.

He said, “With the ongoing reforms, the State government can now channel funds to provide infrastructure in all the institutions rather spend it on salaries alone.”

Obuebite commended the management of the NDU for supporting the efforts of the government to prevent fraud and wastage and the establishment of a well-structured system in the university.

He said that the current measures were designed to ensure that the tertiary institutions had a functional and effective system.
