My true talk what's the essence of the various cards.. Debit Debit and Debit up and down ..when you have enough to empower people more with credit facility at the micro level.. and also the issue of double digit interest..quote author=dollarsplenty post=67572674]I always wonder why first bank has millions of customers. Lately I came to conclusion that Nigerians are very patient people. After all, if we can be patient with Buhari, then, what is first bank that we cannot tolerate them. If you can bank with first bank, you can bank with any bank in Nigeria. [/quote] |

You go still dey tell me how to spend my money ..yeyenatu.quote author=postbox post=67560985]FirstBank of Nigeria Limited has announced the introduction of a contactless naira MasterCard to its array of debit cards. The move, according to the bank, was to promote convenience, ease of transactions and the security of funds. According to a statement from the bank, FirstBank debit cards are accepted nationwide and globally, adding that they can be used to withdraw cash and access value-added services including bills payment, airtime recharge, flight and hotel booking among others. Read also: https://brandspurng.com/fitch-upgrades-first-bank-of-nigerias-subordinated-notes-to-ccc/ “The FirstBank Contactless Naira Master Card enables quick pin-less purchases and is a fast secure way for customers to shop locally and globally. “The contactless card can be used for making payments in the London transport network such as buses, tubes, trams, Dock and Light Railway (DLR) and the London Overground as well as in Grocery shops, supermarkets and Gas stations within London metropolis. “The card is designed to enhance a cashless lifestyle by promoting increased card usage for lower value transactions. Payments are made by tapping the card on the POS machine with contactless functions for low value transactions; the card can also be used in a regular POS as a normal MasterCard,” it explained. The daily limits for pin-less transactions are N3,000 for the contactless naira Mastercard and N10,000.00 for the contactless Platinum Debit MasterCard. Furthermore, it revealed that the FirstBank Verve debit card is Chip & PIN secured for greater protection of customers’ funds and provides extra protection for web-based transactions with “Safetoken.” “It is accepted wherever the Interswitch or Verve logo is displayed and can also be used to perform transactions via the Quickteller services menu on FirstBank ATMs. This Card is issued in 15 minutes at FirstBank branches, saves time and is very easy to obtain. “With the FirstBank Expressions on Card, Customers now have the freedom to design the look and feel of their cards with their most cherished memories and spend with a card that is as unique as them,” it added. The daily limits for pin-less transactions are N3,000 for the contactless naira Mastercard and N10,000.00 for the contactless Platinum Debit MasterCard. This is the reason I don't take First bank seriously. N3,000 per day! Rubbish!! |

skales67:3000 limit is for contacless payments,if you want to pay more then slot your card into the POS machine and put your pin otherwise you can just tap the POS with your atm to make contactless payments if what you are paying for is less than 3k,geez,the ignorance in that country is alarming |

larot78:A little enlightenment for you, no bank in Nigeria can afford single interest rate. You cannot have inflation at +14% for example and say that Nigerian banks should charge customers single digit interest, these banks would collapse.A little google on countries with single interest digit, you'll discover that inflation rate in these countries is also a single digit. Countries like USA, Japan, Germany etc 2 Likes |

I use contactless card here in the UK and is maximum of £30 for contactless transactions, you just keep your card close to the POS machine and it reads it finish. if thatt thing is in Nigeria imagine. people money go dey miss because you don’t need pin. imagine getting alerts before you block your card. 2 Likes |

joe4christ: It can be made optional when majority of the people understand what it entails. that way the bank wont be held liable for any mishap. |

I am Eguaogie G. I. I have two accounts with FirstBank: Credit account and current account. I recently made a transfer of 11k via my credit card account number 2028459248 on the 22 March, 2018 to one Peter Enokhian FirstBank account via ATM machine at Aduwawa Branch in Benin City but the money neither got to it destination nor was is returned to me. I complained and was even assured that the money would be returned but till now I'm yet to receive it. What baffled me was that the ATM transferred this money via Pay Arena. |
