Russia 2018: Coach Tite Unveils Brazil 23-man Provisional World Cup Squad by dabblesports(m): 11:38am On May 15, 2018
Brazil has named the 23-man who will represent the South American nation in the forthcoming soccer mundial, the FIFA World Cup billed for Russia. The soccer Mundial which is unarguably the biggest sporting tournament globally will see 32 countries to vie for the coveted trophy.

Coach Tite has added name to the sixteen earlier confirmed in February. Last week former Barcelona and Juventus defender who now ply his trade in France for PSG Dani Alves has been ruled out of the World Cup. Alves picked up a serious knee injury and was forced to be replaced in the game and this has forced coach Tite to source for an alternative player to replace the injured Alves.

Danilo and Taison have joined Paris Saint Germain star Neymar in Brazil’s squad for the World Cup.
The PSG defender’s withdrawal left one first team slot up for grabs in his starting XI of which Manchester City’s Danilo will now try to get the nod ahead of Cortinhians man Fagner.

Gremio’s Pedro Geromel has been picked for the final reserve spot in the Brazil defence and that see him join established stars Thiago Silva of PSG, Marquinhos and Miranda to complete the defence department of the team.

The selected players are expected to arrive at the Granja Comary in Teresopolis on May 21, where they will work for a week before heading for London on May 27.

The members of the squad who will be involved in the final of the UEFA Champions League will link up with the team in Europe on May 28 after the football showpiece billed to hold in Kiev, Ukraine which will see defending champions Real Madrid take on Liverpool.


The Selecao will base in London at Tottenham Hotspur’s newly constructed Lodge ahead of their Brasil Global Tour friendly game against Croatia at Anfield on June 3. The team is scheduled to return to London and train before departing for Vienna on June 8 to take on Austria on June 10 to round the friendly game schedule before jetting out to Russia.

Brazil full squad:
Goalkeepers: Alisson (Roma), Ederson (Manchester City), Cassio (Corinthians)

Defenders: Marcelo (Real Madrid), Danilo (Man City), Fagner (Corinthians), Felipe Luis (Atletico Madrid), Marquinhos (PSG), Thiago Silva (PSG), Miranda (Inter Milan), Pedro Geromel (Gremio).

Midfielders: Fernandinho (Man City), Willian (Chelsea), Paulinho (Barcelona), Casemiro (Real Madrid), Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona), Renato Augusto (Beijing Guoan), Fred (Shakhtar).

Forwards: Neymar (PSG), Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City), Roberto Firmino (Liverpool), Douglas Costa (Juventus), Taison (Shakhtar).
Brazil will begin their World Cup campaign against Switzerland on June 17.
