BlackManta:Ogbeni.... Would your ancestors be educated if not for christian missionaries? Churches today are the second highest owners of hospitals in this country. Churches are still one of the highest NGO funders of orphanages. Including Rehab and centers for the elderly Thousands of Nigerians currently school at church universities. So pls don't talk about what you don't know. The case of Akwa Ibom building a church is isolated. But I can assure you that the church has given to Akwa Ibom more than Akwa Ibom has given to the church. |

HigherEd: Why are you shifting the goal post You accused Northeners of building Mosques and funding pilgrimage with government money. You also claimed that such things does not happen in the South A BALANT LIE ! I corrected you by providing proof of Akwa Ibom government building Mega Church and Lagos state funding pilgrimage. Instead of you to admit that you posted a BALANT LIE in your first post, you started talking about missionaries. Trying to justify Akwa Ibom govt. Spending billions of naira...government money in building mega church How low can you get There is something called...Separation of Church and State. Government is a secular body. A secular body should not build mega church with state money. IT IS WRONG. Call a spade a spade and stop trying to justify medocrity. How many youths are employed in Akwa Ibom state How many pensioners have been paid What about infractructural development But a state government is building mega church with tax payers money and you are trying to justify it IT IS WRONG. You claim that churches have done more for Akwa Ibom than the state government Where did you get your statistics Prove it Or did you make that up from your head Stop trying to justify medocrity. Nigeria is neither a christian nor muslim country. Nigeria is secular. Therefore....state government building Mosques and Churches with state money is 100% wrong. Admit it. IT IS WRONG. You cannot bash Northern states for building Mosques with government money and then turn around and applaud Akwa Ibom for spending government money on mega church. That is sheer HYPOCRISY. You are being sentimental to your religion. Drop sentiments and apply common sense. 1 Like 1 Share |

You see this is the difference between the north and the south- lazy yoots, the north are a group of people who believe in social welfare- govt marries wives for them and gives them 100k, as settlement - govt cook for them during Ramadan, govt pay for their hajj trips, now this is the reason why when they find themselves in any govt office they steal, they give birth to thousands and pour them on the streets as almajiri's let the society or govt take responsibility for the children, rubbish - even the educated among them can't see this fact because they believe its the norm, and that's the way life is everywhere or should be - one day is one day |

I don't know why you are all just full of hatred. Majority of people in kano are Muslim, so what is the big deal in government of the states supporting their belief by probiding Food. Even here in Cyprus during Ramadan, there are lot of places to eat for free. You all are still the reason why Nigeria is still like that and why it is difficult to get better.. hypocrisy and tribalism at the highest level |

tuniski:You can't generalise. El rufai stopped it in kaduna, because He also believes in teaching the people how to fish. As a Muslim, I would advocate for a system where instead of just creating feeding centers, the Government should utilize the manpower to do menial jobs for Government like cleaning roads, clearing refuse dumps, waterways, and so on. By doing that, the monies earmarked should be monetized and given to these people and they feed themselves. 1 Like |
