The Governor of Delta state, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa on Wednesday 16th of may 2018 honor the pupils of Obukhokwo Primary School in ugheli, who  emerged the winners of the Delta State Headmaster's Cup match.

22 pupils boarded flight to Lagos for 2-days Coaching Class as Chiedu Ebie receives accolades.

The Agbor International Stadium was the beehives of activities yesterday 16 May 2018. It played host to The Grand Finale of the Delta State Headmasters' Football Tournament. Over 500 public and private primary schools pupils participated in the football competition across the 25 local government areas of Delta State. The ministry of Basic and Secondary education under the captainship of Barr Chief Ebie through the local organizing committee (LOC) ensured that from the kickoff to the Zonal competition and the Grand Finale the needed supports and logistics that gave birth to the success story of the tournament were in place.

At the end of the competitive tournament, Obukhokwo Primary School carried the day, Pessu Primary School took the 2nd Position while Ogoma Primary School Ogwashi - Uku came 3rd. They were different categories of cash prizes for the 1st , 2nd and 3rd runners up.

The Grand Finale of the maiden edition of the Delta State Headmasters Cup attracted the shakers and movers of the State, PA John Nwagimen (Guru), Sir Peter Idion of the famous Bridge Builders, American trained chemist Dr Chukwuma Nwaonicha, Hon Sunny Ogwu Chairman SUBEB, Hon Okoh C. Festus Member DTHA, The Nigerian News Blogger Gift osayande and a host of other leaders were present at the epoch event. Sports lovers, Head Teachers, pupils and Football Fans across the State were all on ground to watch the display of Football artistry by pupils of less than 12 years whose mastery of the round leather game gives a glimpse of hope that tomorrow could be secured if leadership would be proactive.

The events proved  that the Okowa-led administration is really set to reinvent the old good days of Bendel State- when catching them young through Sports was what produced several big names at both National and international sports Arena.

The story of the physically challenged Kelvin who is the overall best player who deposited that his dream was to play for Chelsea Football Club is both inspirational and a proof that there is ability in disability. His boldness and assertiveness gave the VIPs goose pimples. His Excellency, Sen, Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa the executive Governor of Delta State proved he is a sports loving leader who hates disappointment. Gov Okowa said ''Today event marks another phase of the education of our children, I am impressed with what the Honourable Commission of Basic And Secondary education Barr Chiedu Ebie with his Team has done to see the successful completion of this tournament after their laudable efforts in the Principals Cup, I am deeply impressed. I have directed that 22 of the players be flown to Lagos through Warri Airport for a 2-days Coaching Class ". A thunderous ovation that almost collapsed the stadium erupted.
