Ngor Okpala, A Home coming for Ihedioha

Today witnessed the Inauguration of Ihedioha Youth Movement, a Support Group of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha and the People’s Democratic Party, the PDP. Ihedioha Youth Movement is made up of energetic and hardworking young men and women who have decided to turn themselves into change agents and indeed, agents of Liberation. The group is led by their State Coordinator, Engr. Rex Okoro, an Electrical Electronics Engineer and a former Student Union president of Imo State University, Owerri. In the past months, Ihedioha Youth Movement have coordinated themselves singlehandedly through the Inauguration of over 15 Local Governments Chapters across the State. One significant thing about this group is that these young men and women have decided to change the norms by investing their resources in a project they can trust.

The Ngor Okpala Inauguration of the Group held today at the famous Ohie Nkirinki hall in Okpala offered His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, another opportunity to interact with his people. For those who may not know, Ihedioha’s maternal home is Ngor Okpala, and that qualifies him to be a “Nwa Nwa” in Ngor Okpala. As “a true Son of a proud daughter” of Ngor Okpala and one of the great Okereke’s, Chief Ihedioha has remained a Primus inter pares in the league of “Ndi Nwa Nwa” in Ngor Okpala. He is one they can never forget. A proud “Nwa Nwa” who has attracted meaningful projects and empowerment to them. It’s on record that the only passable roads in Ngor Okpala are those attracted by Chief Emeka Ihedioha while in the National Assembly. Little wonder the Traditional rulers of Ngor Okpala met some time in the past, liaised with their counterparts in Mbaise to institute a bilateral tradition stool which saw to the Title of Omemkahuruanya. In Igbo land, Titles must reflect the true nature of a man, any title given to someone who does not merit such will end up ridiculing both the beneficiary and the traditional institution. What this means is that the title of “Omenkahuruanya” which literary means “someone who does things that are visible” is not just a title to Chief Ihedioha but a true reflection of the man Ihedioha and his antecedents.

While speaking during the event, Chief Ihedioha thanked the youths, leaders and the people of Ngor Okpala for coming out to receive him as usual. He noted that “when ever he is coming for an event in Ngor Okpala, it’s always like a home coming for him”. Chief Ihedioha thanked the youths for remaining steadfast and committed to a course they believe in. He urged them not to derail in the vision of IYM which is to ensure that Imo is Liberated come 2019. Chief Ihedioha appreciated all those who have volunteered to ensure that the Inauguration is successful. He prayed God to reimburse them accordingly.

The highpoint of the was was the Inauguration of Ward and LGA executives of Ihedioha youth Movement in the LGA.
