@poster

Are you designing w/ Dreamweaver or what Lemme know so I can aid you more but,

This can also help:

1. Make sure all your files are in one single folder.
2. If you are using dreamweaver create a "Site for the folder".
3. View the HTML souce to make sure you don't have this kind of links. i.e: "grin:/Document , " because you are supposed to have something like "/images/filename.jpg" or so,

Gat it?

If your pictures are not showing, that means you have not done the right thing.

First of all you have a folder containing images in your website folder (saved in your computer) that you may probably name "image".
Now, login to your server and create a folder in your public html folder. Name the folder "image". Click the folder to open and you will see that it is empty. Click UPLOAD and then upload the images one after the other. Do not upload the image folder at once. You can only use this method if you upload File Manager in your hosting control panel.

Good Luck!

Try and use File Manager in your hosting control panel. Create image file on your public html and upload your images one by one to it. Refresh your web page and you will see your images displayed.

If u cud paste d folder structure before uploading it to the server and the structure at the server after uploading, with how u link to d images. . . It will do more help easily.
**FOR EXAMPLE**
Lets say u got a folder for html files which u name Webpages, a picture folder which u name Image and ur homepage file called index.html. All under the root directory. . . This is the folder structure.
>Root:/
>Webpages
>Images
>index.html
under images folder we have pic1.jpg, pic2.jpg, pic3.jpg. . . And under the webpages folder we have pg1.html, pg2.html, pg3.html. . .

**index.html**
<html><body><p>
====== this is an example=====<img src="images/pic1.jpg"/> <br/><a href="Webpages/pg3.html">MY example page3</a> </p></body></html>

thats just a little about linking,. . . . . Hope u understand it!

Thanks to you guys for bringing up this topic. I'm a newbie to programming/webdesigning and I've been working with macromedia to designing but the thing looks complicated. Although I'm not a Computer Scientist but its of interest to me. My point is how do I go about using it? May be I need a tutorial on it. I want to be a good website designer, help.

Re: How To Upload A Website by Nobody: 9:32pm On Jun 02, 2010
Well like someone said the main issue is the Relative Path stuff u need to master that.also no need for any ftp software dreamweaver comes with one already but if u insist u need one filezilla is easy to use.also learn html with notepad u will have a better understanding on web error than dreamweaver cuz dreanweaver changes codes in a weird manner
