I've encountered such in Benin city too. An elderly woman and a somewhat young dude that seemed to have an injury on his leg. I was at an ATM to withdraw cash opposite the general hospital when they approached and said they needed transport as they had no money to go home. I had extra 500 which I gave to them as did some other guy I gave a lift to in my car. Fast forward some weeks later, I found them in same spot and curiously stopped and pretended to go withdraw and as expected, they came with same story. When I asked if they were not same people I helped with tp some weeks back, they denied it and started walking away. Since then I stopped seeing them there until I bumped into them for the third time but in another location close to another hospital with same story.. thieves all if them...

See you are trying to change people without changing their perception. This industrious couple see begging as the best route for them to survive in this country of ours. Until their perception changes, they will not stop. As long as they are not attacking people, I have no problem with their hustle.

I know those guys they are around ikeja. They've been there for more than 5 years with the same strategy. That man looks so serious with the woman looking lost. They've perfected the art. I don't even look at them again. I also gave small tin one time but was shocked to see him the next day same story. Waving a pharmacy bill in my face.

I've seen many like that particularly around general ikeja and luth.

If it is a crime then you should admire them even more because their desire to survive obviously outweighs their fear of the legal repercussions.

It is possible. I have been having lockjaw since I was in university due to problems with my skeleton that needs everyday care. If I was begging for a living since I can't work, then I just might offend you like this.

In better countries they are entitled to disability allowance without too much hassle. All they have to do is fill the form and for life they get the money.

I was once in a bus in oshodi waiting to load, one yellow man comes with a doctor prescription dated the previous day and a story of sick son, after I drop my spare cash and he goes, one passenger beside me had the effontery to tell us he had run into he somewhere else previously, I was like "why you no talk am when he dey here before I drop my money?"
One other time I was in a bus loading to travel and a pregnant (eh fit be fake), supposed deaf and dumb woman comes begging, I begin discussing with the passenger beside me on why would poor people who can't afford babies be getting too many of them as she held two more kids, well the bus loaded and we took off, I look back as the bus was leaving and see the deaf woman insulting me with the spread arm curse otherwise known as "waka".
Even yesterday a lady called me, introduced her self as Blessing from the last church membership course I did. I barely recognised the name, then she began by apologising for asking me that she is stranded etc, eh be like say she don forget say she don try the stunt with me before, said it was for her kids medicine, fortunately then I actually didn't have so didn't give her, so as it happened again, na em I instantly off call, she call back i no pick, her number is now on my scam list.

They started begging three years ago and now the fourth year since the day Buhari is in office. Buhari why?
