Today is celebrated as Democracy day in Nigeria. True Democratic process in any country is hinged on the ability of its citizens to vote and the credibility of the electioneering process that produce a leader that more than averagely represents the voice of the people.

Here's my little gift to Nigerians as we celebrate our Democracy day. A poem urging us to get our PVC.

It is around that time of the year again
When politicians seek for electoral gain
Heaven on earth they promise during campaign
My simple advise is that you get your PVC.

Elections for now may seem far away
But the power in our thumbs will keep bad politicians at bay
Our votes is our loudest voice, hence I say
Please, please get your PVC

Our votes don't count some people say
And thus they've have been ignorantly part of the decay
With our votes we can chart the course of a new day
Remember once again to get your PVC

Others say we don't have a viable opposition
But that is not enough proposition
With time we may have a better option
But you prepare and get your PVC

The government of the day claim they've done their best
The next elections will put their claims to test
Maybe we need another to do the rest
But you can only have a say if you get your PVC.
