Our client, a fast-growing startup Oil & Gas company, wants to hire a Business Development Engineer, that will head and drive new business opportunities for the Business in the upstream sector of the Oil and Gas Industry; bidding for jobs and ensuring contracts are won.

Job location: VI and Ikeja (will work from either of these locations from time to time)
Work hours: Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm
Pay Range: Negotiable (Basic + commission)

Job Functions:

Business Development & Sales
• Liaise with the Managing Director to develop the business strategy of the organization.
• Responsible for drawing up business proposals, subsequent presentations and follow up in contract negotiations.
• Bid for all jobs and also be in charge of the execution.
• Develop and grow the business/financial base of the company.
• Development of bid pursuit strategy for approval including; Competitive advantages, risk identification, profit potential & supporting rational.

Operations
• Enforce proper documentation from origination to completion of projects, client visits, interaction and liaison reporting of work activities.
• Preparation of tender documents and attend relevant meeting.
• Process bids and package them to be winnable.
• Full participation in the post bid submission clarification and negotiation process through to contract award.

Research
• Monitor competitor activity and develop regular reports to support bid strategy and bid decision making.
• Assess risks and make recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors
involved in a business situation.
• Undergo extensive research that qualifies the organization to bid for jobs.
• Develop and regularly update the Bid Pipeline based upon latest bid status, market intelligence & feedback.

Relationship Management
• Maintain business relationship with NIPEX and NAPIMS with respect to bid submission.

Required Qualification/Experience:
• Minimum of first degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in development and utilization within the Oil and Gas industry value chains and be able to demonstrate high flexibility in complex market environments.
• Experience in bidding for jobs in the Oil and Gas sector is strongly desired.
