Dino Melaye, the senator representing Kogi West, on Thursday demanded an apology from President Muhammadu Buhari over a purported uncomplimentary and derogatory remarks he made against federal lawmakers.

He reminded his colleagues that Buhari had while receiving members of his support group led by the Customs Comptroller-General, Hameed Ali, last week stated that many lawmakers have spent more than 10 years in the legislature without achieving anything.

Melaye insisted that the President’s speech was uncomplimentary and derogatory to the reputation of the hallowed chambers and functions of the parliament particularly under a democratic dispensation.
