Announcement of the launching of Shoprite Mobile Money
This is a great improvement in Nigeria in which the Largest food retail of South Africa’s “Shoprite” has come up in launching of it own Mobile Money Service called “Shoprite Mobile Money”. The company has more than 17 stores across Nigeria and has employed more than 2000 people which 98% are Nigerian citizens.

This company partnered with Google, Global financial technology company celbux and Standard Bank to made the launching of this particular e-payment service. The system will allow customer’s to deposit, withdraw and to send money as you buy groceries at any of their store across the country.

This system will also allow users to buy airtime using your mobile, payment of electricity as far as they have funds in their Shoprite Mobile Account.

In the statement of the company “This service called Shoprite Mobile Money, is a system in which you can transact banking service through your mobile and available for everyone”

“Shoprite always search for new method of delivering on low prices as promised. With the method of Shoprite Money, All customer’s or user now have an affordable and convenient banking service.”

“By using the Shorite Money wallet, The service will give you access to deposit, withdraw and send money as you buy groceries at any of their store across the country, Usave stores, Checkers, and checker Hyper.”

Transaction are free of charge excluding cash withdrawals fee of R9.95 which is South Africa Rand’s and this system Shoprite Mobile available for user from 18 years of age and older with a valid SA ID document, irrespective of their device, connectivity and mobile network, Said.

Any user from 18 years upward can register for account by dialing *134*3534# free of charge or by register at any Money Market counter in any of their stores.

The Shoprite Money will be available in Nigeria and other countries in the next 10 to 15 months.
