The World Cup hasn’t even began and Nigeria is already recording impressive strides. First, we learned that the Nigerian jersey is to be sold for a whooping N41,000.

Just a jersey.

Then we heard 3 million kits had already been pre-ordered. Followed by the news that our jersey is raked the best among all other national jersey designs to be worn by players in the world cup.

Next, we learned the Nigerian jersey has been sold out in minutes. All of it; the home and away kits and the training kits as well.

Woww.

To cap it up, our players got a Presidential farewell.

What better morale booster do we need?

We all know how important “dressing right is”, suffice to say, we are dressed for success. If that is the only prepping we need, we can be sure we would become World Cup Champions.

But best cloths does not win World Cup, you know, best legs do.

But we know grapping the World Cup requires far more than wearing the finest apparel. All our faith lies in the performance of our formidable team. I remember the might of Vincent Enyema at the last World Cup. If Francis Uzoho can replicate that, or even better, beat Enyema’s performance at the last World Cup, then we stand a good chance of not conceding too many goals.

We watched Mikel Obi do exploits in Chelsea FC for over a decade, and has shown enough promise to earn Captainship. That should give us more confidence.

Then we have Victor Moses and Ahmed Musa, our regular golden boys at the World Cup. I pray Iheancho brings on the Leicester City effect for us; their power of resurrection that shot them from the relegation to Champions two seasons ago.

It will be a sin if I forget to mention Alex Iwobi. Our fresh boy. Our wonder boy. Thanks to him, we locked our place at the qualifiers and onwards to the World Cup proper. We hope for the best of him and we have so much faith in him, lets pray he doesn’t disappoint. That he makes his make in the
