Manchester United are closing in on the £52million signing of Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos from Shakhtar Donetsk, with the player set to undergo his medicals this week. According to the Manchester Evening News, he could be confirmed as Jose Mourinho’s first summer signing by Tuesday. Fred’s agent, Fabio Melo, who represents him alongside former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva, is scheduled to hold talks with United on Monday. The 25-year-old will sign a four-year contract with the option of another 12 months.
