The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ondo West Local Government Party Secretariat (formerly Coalition For Nigeria Movement) was invaded by some hoodlums on Saturday 2nd June 2018 with properties destroyed and members of the party attacked with cutlasses and broken bottles. The demolition was alleged to be carried out by some political thugs associated with the Labour Party of the former governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko. In a view to get the true picture of the events that happened, Ataaoja reached out to some of the parties involved.

One of the leaders of the ADC while speaking with Ataaoja.com, Mr. Olu Ogunsakin noted that ADC paid the caretaker Mr Wale Akinkuotu (aka Sir Little) a one year lease of a space in the premises in January 2018 and have been using the place for their meetings since January. It came as a surprise that since May there has been pressure on the caretaker by the Labour Party to evict the ADC and a Bet9ja shop (sport betting company) in the premises to afford them the opportunity to use it for their party secretariat. The Bet9ja shop operators were successful evicted and they mobilized thugs to forceful evict the ADC party members with no protection from the caretaker, who ought to protect his tenant.


Ataaoja.com reached out to one of the Labour Party faithful a staunch supporter of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, who pleaded anonymity said the premises was the Labour Party (LP) former secretariat and the LP ceased using the place since they moved to People Democratic Party (PDP) in 2014 ( 4 years ago). It is not logical for the Labour Party to decide to use the same premises for her secretariat when it has been occupied by another political party, this act is against the rules and guidelines for the operation and conduct of political parties as provided by INEC.

Ataaoja.com also have in authority that the Nigeria Police halted the ADC ongoing meeting on Sunday, 3rd June 2018 which the ADC members feel to be a deep connivance between the Police and the Labour Party. All efforts to reach the police as at this press release have been abortive.
