With Manchester United poised to announce the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred, there have been various reports stating that United has been gazumping Manchester City in the transfer market. With January’s signing of Alexis Sanchez, and now Fred’s signing it would seem United are beating Manchester City to the signing of players targeted by Manchester City. This is not true though as reports so far have stated that Manchester City pulled out of these deals, paving the way for United to sign both men.
