President Muhammadu Buhari has declared June 12th as the new date for the celebration of Nigeria’s Democracy Day. The President announced this moments ago on his Twitter page. He said the change in date is to honor late MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election. The president also stated that Abiola would be awarded with the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR) title posthumously.
