Armed bandits have kidnapped 23 persons traveling on a highway in the troubled Birnin-Gwari area of Kaduna State.

The victims include a nursing mother and a kid, Mohammed Kebi told the news agency, PRNigeria.

Kebi, a commercial driver, who escaped the scene of the kidnap, said about five vehicles were intercepted during the abduction on Friday morning.

“At least five vehicles were intercepted by Kidnappers along Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna road around 11.00am this morning Friday. At least 23 people were kidnapped, including a nursing mother and one other kid.

“The incident occurred at Kwanar-tsauni between Udawa and Labi.

“Though there is improved security along Funtua route which many commercial vehicles ply, we want the government to also provide maximum security to other routes that are haven of Kidnappers,” he said.

Just last week, about 107 persons travelling at two different occasions along the Birnin Gwari- Kaduna road were allegedly abducted by gunmen.

Herdsmen are roaming free in Zamfara, Benue and other states, Kidnappers are having a field day on d Kaduna Expressway and axis and other areas of Kaduna, and yet d IG and police seems more interested in engaging in media noisemaking and trial of Saraki. Can't dey go about d so called investigation without all d media charade and do d needful wen dey are done? Dis kidnapping and robbery on dis route has become so very normal and yet no one seems to b doing anything about it.. Imagine kidnapping dis number of ppl in broad daylight..

Bro the source of this news is suspicious, no real pictures of the actual scene. Some bloggers need to learn what journalism is about.

I am not sure that the government gives its appointees key Performance Indicators KPI backed by statistics. If they do, Burutai, IGP and all security chiefs should have been shown the exit door by now.

How can people keep collecting salaries and allowances just like that with the death and destruction in the country? Is it because they are loyal to the president? Is that all that matters now? Too bad
