When talking about online business ideas in Nigeria, blogging is usually one of the first things to come to mind. However, the online market is way wider than just blogging. Blogging is "major" but it is not "only".

Here is a list of the top 5 online businesses to start in Nigeria today.

1. Affiliate Marketing: Affiliate marketing involves selling other people's (or companies') products, and getting paid commissions for the sales. It is still an open market in Nigeria and you can easily tap into it. Jumia and Konga offer some of the most robust affiliate programmes in Nigeria today. You can find the registration links by following the link at the end of this post.

2. Instagram Influencing: What if you were told that you could actually make money from Instagram. Doing the same things you have been doing, you could create an income stream for yourself. All you have to do is, create a solid following. Then, you can make sponsored posts for people, or advertise their products. Then, get paid.

3. Freelancing: Freelancing is not all about Fiverr. You can offer freelancing services in Nigeria without Fiverr or Updesk or all those other platforms. There are people in Nigeria who look for creative writers, graphic designers, video editors, etc, on a regular basis. You can get in touch with any of them, and sell your skills.

4. Online Coaching: What are those skills you have? You can teach them to people for a fee. Just create an online course, and get people to register to learn. These people pay you to learn your skills. It does not matter the skill, there are people who want to learn.

5. Blogging: Of course, the list would be incomplete without blogging. Blogging is the most long-term of these business ideas. Find a niche that you love, create a website for it, and start writing about it. Then you can follow any of the various blog monetisation methods, and make a huge income from your blog.
