Briefing newsmen at the Commands Headquarters in Owerri, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Dasuki Galandachi disclosed that thirteen out of the forty five suspects have been charged to court.
Mr. Galandachi who said since assumption of duty policing in the state has been reinvigorated disclosed that it has set up strategic policy in crime fighting and control in the state which include Community engagement in crime prevention, control, intelligence led policing, robust fight against violent crime, quick and timely response to distress calls amongst others.
One of the arrested suspects is twenty six year old Izuchukwu Chibundu from Obowo local government area who has been terrorizing residents of Ihitteafoukwu Community in Ahiazu Mbaise, he was arrested with charm tied to his wrist, one automated pump action gun, and four live cartridge
Another suspect who hails from Umuneke Ugiri in Isiala Mbano local government area Victor Duru was arrested following a tip-off while negotiating to sell a stolen vehicle.
