It has been a crazy week for the national team of Spain, first with the announcement that head coach, Julen Lopetegui would be the next coach of Real Madrid and then to the FA boss sacking him a day later.

Reports has however revealed that while other players in the Spanish camp at the world cup were surprised by Real Madrid's announcement of Lopetegui, some already knew beforehand.

According to Spanish news outlet, Marca, Real Madrid and Spain captain, Sergio Ramos had already been informed days earlier that his national team coach was going to take over at the club.

Florentino Perez reportedly called his captain to keep him aware of the situation, whilst also gaining crucial information on the coaching style of the 51-year-old before he made his own final decision.

Whilst La Roja were in transit from Madrid to their training base in Krasnodar, the seven Real Madrid players on the plane were aware the former Porto coach would be joining them in the Spanish capital at the end of the tournament.

Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vazquez, Marco Asensio, Isco, Nacho Fernandez, Jesus Vallejo and Ramos were all aware of developments involving their club.
