He said it as it is.

It is a revolving door for apprenticeship. A social and souls intervention programme.

Government made it clear from the beginning and the beneficiaries, not being illiterate, knew the set objective.

I remember many on this forum even calling it a fraud and that it never happened. Heck, even Abaribe said Npower had no participants.

Of a sudden, some people want to blackmail government into absorbing 200k into its payroll.

Mr. Man what r you saying exactly... that because it is a social programme it is wrong for the government to absorb them or what r u really insinuating

They did not go into kidnapping when they were jobless, without skill and without 30k monthly.

Why should they do so now?
it would have been better if they hadn't tasted that 30k, they would have still continued in their search for a well paid job but most of them have relaxed and this will only lead them to frustration if laid off and forced to start combing the streets once again for a job

The NPower program is guilty of excluding graduate that are above the age bracket of 18-35.

It should not be used as a basics for employing Nigeria graduates because there is a long list of unemployed graduates that are even 40 years or more.

Federal government should create more jobs beyond the security, paramilitary, fire service, customs, immigration.

We want to see oil companies employed graduates in massive number.

What are you talking about here?

Why not add private laundry services employing graduates in massive numbers?

Any graduate who makes it to 40 without having ever worked, has only himself to blame.

Let's blame the government for teaching them a skill, giving them stipends whilst doing so.

That is exactly what I'm insinuating.

There is another batch of 200k that should be taken on, in the programme after this set.

You want government to employ them too ?

So 200k graduates leave the universities every year expecting to be absorbed in ministries to do what exactly?

We are 180 million people. Should we go this route, in 5 years, 1 in 180 people would be an Npower engaged civil servant .

Should you add the current civil service workforce perhaps we'll have something like 1 in 90 people being in the civil service.

How would they be funded?

How would the society function?

Who should be generating the wealth of the nation?

.......... *recharge & get paid (RAGP)*

What is it all about?

To say what it is all about, it is first good to know what it is NOT about.

RAGP is NOT a PONZI scheme which in the recent past has milked dry a good number of Nigerians. It is a network business but a network business with a great difference, in other words, a network business unlike all the rest, one that relates to your everyday experience.

It is a fully registered company with three recognized organs in our country, two of them being the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), with its headquarters at Abuja.

Secondly, RAGP operates in partnership with the four major networks in Nigeria: *MTN, GLO, Etisalat and Airtel*. Incorporated recently into it are DSTV, GOTV and StarTimes.

It is estimated that the recharge/communications business is the next most pressing need after food; and that why averagely thousands of Nigerians recharge their GSM gadgets per second. So imagine yourself earning money from this thousands of Nigerians each time they recharge their phones even when you are in the comfort of your home.

what is stopping the govt from providing jobs every year without laying some people off? Govt is the greedy one here, retaining posts for their unborn grand children when those with the merits are still suffering
There is something called private sector, the primary duty of the government is providing security and basic infrastructure with primary health care, making policies and regulations, as well as creating an enabling environment for everyone who wants to participate making the field, free and fair.

As it is we already have an overbloated work force at the Federal and state levels, which is why things like N power was brought up, to train people for self employment and private sector.

Finally don't forget that the Government is not a charity organisation.

These are some facts about the 1st set of Npower :

1: some has save enough for dem 2 start new things dat wil generates revenue for demselvz.

2: some has acquired one or more knowledge in d system dat wil be given dem sometin after the program.

3: Some don't even show @ d place of primary assignment & do collect Npower stipend as a backup.

4: if d 1st set [200000] are absorbed, what will happen 2 d next set [300,000] or so?

D Main point is that Government cannot absorb dem coz subsequent set will be aiming for such & corruption wil set in.

its a pity how people claiming to be graduates from highly placed institutions settle down for mediocrity.

someone even had the tenacity to say they settled down for 30k. so after the travails and challenges of higher institution, knowledge gained and exposures, 30k is worth settling down for and relaxing even to the extent that an indefinite continuation is been called for.

this is why mediocrity is and still will be the order of the day. knowledge is supposed to broaden our minds to possibilities and heights, its a pity that all I see is the exact opposite.

I pray that our minds be enlightened to see the bigger picture and what is beyond the box we've placed ourselves into.

The real question should be, are they filling vacant spaces and doing job that were left on done, are they adding to the value of education or sitting behind desk useless.

I dont know of other states but in Ogun State, most of them have to take up subjects that are far from their speciality because there is massive shortage of teachers.

Most teacher have retired and because the government wants to keep recurrent expenditure low there is an invisible embargo on employment.
You are right, I'm one of the volunteers in Lagos State, the public schools here are lacking quality and qualified teachers especially in primary schools. Most of their teaching staff are retired leaving non-teaching staff to do their work, and from my experience so far, the non-teachers are not doing well. The class I'm taking has no teaching staff at all, only a non-teaching staff and I, and the woman is not really doing well, so many mistakes because she's not trained for it, and most of them entered the job with o'level. And you can't correct them on certain mistakes, just have to keep your mouth shut. I'm just feeling for the pupils there. Government really need to step up and employ young talented people that can do the job well.

What is the aim of the training in the first instance? the stipends being paid to them is what it is not something to continually live on. they are supposed to apply their newly taught skills into fending for themselves.
there is no economy in the world that prosper by the government continually expanding the civil service.
