Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to break records and he became only the fourth player in history to score at four World Cup tournaments after he scored a double against Spain.

Ronaldo was the architect of the first goal of the game as he got the better of Spain's Nacho and was brought down in the box by his club teammate.

He dusted himself up and buried the resulting penalty, sending De Gea the wrong way.

Spain seemed to get back in the game following a fine goal by Diego Costa but Ronaldo stepped up to the plate thanks to an error by De Gea.

A shot by Ronaldo from the edge of the box was expected to be easily gathered by the Man Utd goalkeeper but he fumbled the ball, directing it into his own net instead.
