Cubot J3 is a a budget-friendly smartphone recently launched. It is run on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition which promises a light operating system, even though it is powered by 1GB of RAM.

For the record, it is the first smartphone in the world to feature a 5-inch 18:9 aspect ratio screen. It has an 8MP rear camera as well as 5MP selfie camera with the trending Face ID feature.

Design and Display
It features a well designed sleek and sexy look and is a cool budget smartphones to go for. It is covered by an aluminium alloy overall unibody, splashed with plastic in some areas.

It doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner except for the camera and LED flash which are positioned vertically at the top left corner of the rear. In thickness, it measures 8.8mm and is available in three colors; Black, Gray and Blue.

In display department, it carries a 5-inch FWVGA+ capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 960 x 480 pixels and 268 pixels per inch density, dishing out stunning visuals. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 78%.

Hardware and Software
Under the hood, it is powered by a MediaTek MT6580 chipset running on a Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. Graphics is handled by a ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics processor.

For multitasking, you have just 1GB of RAM which is good enough for to power Go and light apps. In terms of storage, there is inbuilt storage of 16GB which is upgradeable up to 32GB via microSD card. Cubot J3 is run on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box.

The camera features on the Cubot J3 is amazing, considering the fact that it is budget device. It offers great value for money with its 8MP rear shooter capable of shooting photos in 0.3 seconds. There are other internal features that enhance photograph on the device. The front camera dons a 5MP selfie shooter which comes with autofocus and beauty mode, delivering awesome selfies. It also supports Face ID for access to the device.
